Health is Wealth | Movement is Medicine
A movement-first wellness company dedicated to improving strength, mobility, independence, and quality of life through corrective exercise, mobility training, nutritional education, and lifestyle coaching.
Two Friends. One Vision. A Lifetime of Movement.
VATA Health & Wellness was born from the friendship, passion, and shared vision of Jon Sales and David Crump—two lifelong students of movement, human performance, health, and the extraordinary potential of the human body.
Their journeys began differently, but ultimately led them to the same discovery:
Movement has the power to transform the human experience.
For Jon Sales, movement became a lifelong pursuit following an early injury that interrupted his athletic progression. What began as a setback became a deeper curiosity about how the human body functions, adapts, compensates, recovers, and performs.
His journey led him to explore human movement, physiology, kinesiology, corrective exercise, movement assessment, respiration, and the relationship between structure and function.
For David Crump, movement developed through athletic performance, nutrition, training, coaching, and mentoring others to reach and exceed their lifelong goals.
As a Division I athlete driven to reach beyond conventional performance limits, David learned that exceptional performance requires more than exercise alone. Strength, endurance, nutrition, recovery, consistency, and intelligent progression must work together.
Although their paths were different, their purpose became the same: to better understand the human body—and help others better understand theirs.
VATA was created from that shared passion.
We believe the human body is not a collection of separate parts. It is an interconnected system in which movement, breathing, awareness, strength, mobility, nutrition, recovery, and daily choices continually influence one another.
When those elements work together, something greater becomes possible. The human begins to move with greater awareness, confidence, capability, and purpose.
That belief became the foundation of VATA Health & Wellness.
VATA was never intended to be simply another gym, personal-training company, or fitness program.
We believe movement is much bigger than exercise. Movement is how we interact with the world. It is how we adapt, communicate, develop, recover, perform, and experience life.
That is why our approach begins with education. We want people to understand why they move the way they do, recognize what their bodies are communicating, and develop the knowledge and confidence to become active participants in their own health.
Our philosophy is built around five fundamental principles:
Creating greater awareness and understanding of how you move.
Using movement and knowledge to create meaningful, lasting change.
Building sustainable habits, patterns, and physical foundations that support long-term health.
Giving the individual the knowledge, confidence, and ability to take ownership of their health and physical potential.
Bringing understanding into action—so that what you learn becomes something you live.
These principles guide everything we do. Whether your goal is to improve mobility, return to activity, develop strength, enhance physical capacity, pursue athletic performance, or simply feel more confident in your body, VATA meets you where you are and helps you discover where you can go.
To help every human find their movement potential and unfold their action.
And we help people create a deeper relationship with their own bodies and their own potential. Because we believe health is not simply the absence of illness. Health is the ability to participate in life. And movement is one of the greatest ways we express that ability.
VATA Health & Wellness exists to help people move with greater understanding, live with greater intention, and become more capable of being the person they were designed to be.

Movement is the medium.
MVNT is the process.
The human is the potential.
MVNT is the continuous process through which the human senses, breathes, processes, organizes, adapts, and expresses purposeful action through movement.
At VATA, movement is not viewed simply as physical exercise. Movement is communication. The human body is continuously receiving information, processing information, creating responses, and expressing those responses through action. Breath, nervous-system activity, vascular flow, posture, balance, mobility, stability, strength, awareness, language, intention, and environment all participate in this process.
MVNT is the study, education, and facilitation of that process.
VATA recognizes the human as a whole and integrated system. What happens within one aspect of the system can influence another.
Breathing can influence movement.
Movement can influence awareness.
Awareness can influence intention.
Intention can influence action.
Action can create adaptation.
Adaptation can create transformation.
This continuous relationship is the foundation of MVNT.
Rather than asking only, “What exercise should you perform?” VATA asks: “What is the human expressing, what is influencing that expression, and how can movement become more purposeful?”
VATA views human movement as a continuous unfolding:
Receive information from within and from the environment.
The nervous system interprets and organizes that information.
Develop purpose, direction, and meaning.
Express that intention through movement.
The system responds to the demands placed upon it.
Repeated, meaningful adaptation creates change.
Change integrates into how the human moves and exists.
SENSE → PROCESS → INTEND → ACT → ADAPT → TRANSFORM → EMBODY
This is MVNT in action.
VATA brings together two essential dimensions of human movement:
The physiological processes that support human function.
The study and application of human movement.
Together, Applied Physio-Kinesio explores how physiological function and human movement continuously interact. VATA extends this relationship further by incorporating Language and Intent—because before movement becomes action, there is often information, perception, meaning, and intention.
Physio + Kinesio + Language + Intent = MVNT
This creates the foundation for the VATA approach to Resonance, Coherence, Clarity, and Embodiment.
The VATA system unfolds through five interconnected pillars:
The expression of human action.
The meaningful change created through movement and adaptation.
The construction of sustainable patterns, foundations, and practices.
The development of human capacity, awareness, and ability to act.
The integration of knowledge, awareness, intention, and movement into lived experience.
These pillars are not separate destinations. They form a continuous cycle:
MOVEMENT → TRANSFORM → ESTABLISHMENT → EMPOWERMENT → EMBODIMENT → MOVEMENT
The process continues.
VATA does not seek to create one universal way for every human to move. Every human has a different history, structure, environment, experience, capacity, and potential.
The purpose of MVNT is therefore not simply to make people move more. It is to help people understand their movement, develop their movement, and discover the potential within their movement.
MVNT seeks to create greater:
Alignment within physiological function.
Greater organization and efficiency of movement.
Greater alignment between perception, meaning, intention, and expression.
The integration of all three into purposeful action.
What is your movement expressing?
VATA exists to help each human explore that question—not by giving them someone else’s movement, but by helping them discover and develop their own.
